Stomp

I went to see Stomp this past weekend with Lindsay. We loved it!  It was awesome, those people are crazy good.

Here is a little taste, but it does not do it justice, not even close.

Happy Birthday Jack!

Believe

A very kewl poem

Believe

Maybe the camera crew is at someone else’s house,
a spotlight haloing over another’s fleshy story.
Maybe the mailman is delivering the good news
to your neighbor, or a different city entirely,
and you come home to a rash of catalogues,
the second notice for a doctor’s bill, a plea
from the do-gooders for whatever you can spare.

Maybe you haven’t cleaned your kitchen floor in weeks,
forgotten to nourish the front garden, spilled too much
coffee in your car, weaving through traffic.

Maybe you are 10 pounds heavier than last year.
Maybe your skin is betraying your age.
Maybe winter is ravaging your heart.
Maybe you are afraid, or lonely, or furious, or wanting out
of every commitment you entered with such vigor and trust.

Maybe you’ve bitten your nails down to the quick,
chosen your meals badly, ignored the advice of those
who know you best. Maybe you are stubborn as a toddler.

Maybe you are clumsy or foolish or hasty or reckless.
Maybe you haven’t read all the books you’re supposed to.
Maybe your handwriting is still illegible after all these years.
Maybe you spent too much on a pair of shoes you didn’t need.
Maybe you left the window open and the rain ruined the cake.
Maybe you’ve destroyed everything you’ve ever wanted to save.

Still.

If anything, believe in your own strange loveliness.
How your body, even as it stumbles, angles for light.

The way you hold a dandelion with such yearning and tenderness,
the whole world stops spinning.

Happy Birthday Kallee!!

Today is my beautiful niece Kallee’s birthday.  Love her and miss he a lot. I wish we lived closer together!!

You’re the one that I want….

I love finding new unique songs and sharing them. This one is a cover but very kewl. :)

Let’s try this again…

Been awhile seen I have done this…my communication was basically moved to facebook,  but I am trying to wean myself off of that.

This way, people who care can find out what is going on.. and not just people we are bored :)

This weekend, I went camping at Gregoire Lake with a big crew…Amanda and Cody, Kelly, Bobby, Mariah and Dawson, Diana, Perry, Christopher and Nicole, Shane and Lisa, Darrell and Stephanie, and Victoria and Craig….there was also a bunch of dogs too.  Luckily we had the group camping.

Friday night it was s bit of a Birthday celebration for Lisa.

This was our first fire, because there was not actually a pit right in the camping part.  We happened to have an RCMP officer there who had some flares.. hehe.

We eventually moved up to the real fire.

On Saturday it was sunny but not that warm on the water.  Perry has this great big blow up island that seats six plus a couple more, so we had that out, Perry’s boat and Christopher’s Sea-Doo.  Mostly it was the guys on the boat and the girls on the island with some rotating and many people used the Sea-do. We were out on the water for about four hours.

The Island

Christopher took me for a ride on his Sea-do.  The first turn he took, I was obviously not prepared and flew right off.  After I eventually got back on, i was like ok i am need to hang on harder.  So the next time I took Christopher with me and we flipped the Sea-doo.  The third time I could tell I was taking him with me so I let go.  By that point I had gotten getting back no down to a science, haha. It was awesome. A lot of fun. I also took it out for a drive by myself.   SO SORE today, my arms are killing me.

Saturday night was more of the same, fires and eating and drinking.

On Sunday, Lisa made us JIgg’s dinner and it was fantastic.  Everything was cooked in that pot, except the roasts and the chicken!

It was an awesome weekend and a great way to wrap up the weekend. :)

Canada Rocks Concert

There was a concert down by the Snye River on Canada Day..I wasn’t really into it, went for the social aspect.

The first act turned out to be my favourtite.  Tupelo Honey is an Edmonton band and they are really good.
A video

Next was The Dusin Bentall Outfit. They were ok, most of the songs were about drugs…

Matt Mays was next.  He was totally high…
Not the best video, but actually from the show. (not mine though)

The headliner was Sam Roberts, definitely most people came to see him.  Again, not  a huge fan. He is a cutie though!

From the show…

Happy Canada Day!!

Titus!!!

Jo and Colin were down in Edmonton and Colin saw the sign advertising that Titus was coming to Edmonton.  We were all over it.  I got Josie hooked on him too.   See this http://tuff501.blog.com/2293733/

We had wanted to get to the show early to get good seats, but because it is Jo and I we were running late.  We got seated way off on the side and we were kinda bummed.  We all had to sit on one side of the table cause there was a post in the way.  But they turned out to be the best seats….because thanks to them Titus smiled at me and talked to me!!!  I have a crush on him as well as thinking he is hilarious.

The office was just to our left.  So we were waiting for the show to start and I saw him go in…got all excited.  So when he came out he walked right by our table, i was totally staring and smiling. He looked at me and smiled back. hehe.

Then later when the MC was introducing him he came up behind and was standing by our table again and then asked if could leave his water bottle on our table.  I nodded and said yes.  Small I know, but Titus talked to me. haha.

It was a great show.  I had heard almost all of the material before but I still laughed.

He is hot!!!

and funny!
