Canada Rocks Concert

There was a concert down by the Snye River on Canada Day..I wasn’t really into it, went for the social aspect.

The first act turned out to be my favourtite.  Tupelo Honey is an Edmonton band and they are really good.
A video

Next was The Dusin Bentall Outfit. They were ok, most of the songs were about drugs…

Matt Mays was next.  He was totally high…
Not the best video, but actually from the show. (not mine though)

The headliner was Sam Roberts, definitely most people came to see him.  Again, not  a huge fan. He is a cutie though!

From the show…

Titus!!!

Jo and Colin were down in Edmonton and Colin saw the sign advertising that Titus was coming to Edmonton.  We were all over it.  I got Josie hooked on him too.   See this http://tuff501.blog.com/2293733/

We had wanted to get to the show early to get good seats, but because it is Jo and I we were running late.  We got seated way off on the side and we were kinda bummed.  We all had to sit on one side of the table cause there was a post in the way.  But they turned out to be the best seats….because thanks to them Titus smiled at me and talked to me!!!  I have a crush on him as well as thinking he is hilarious.

The office was just to our left.  So we were waiting for the show to start and I saw him go in…got all excited.  So when he came out he walked right by our table, i was totally staring and smiling. He looked at me and smiled back. hehe.

Then later when the MC was introducing him he came up behind and was standing by our table again and then asked if could leave his water bottle on our table.  I nodded and said yes.  Small I know, but Titus talked to me. haha.

It was a great show.  I had heard almost all of the material before but I still laughed.

He is hot!!!

and funny!

Bottles!

Today I volunteered for the Days of Caring at the SPCA.  I don’t know if this is in place everywhere or just here, but you can drop of your recylable bottles and cans, etc.  They have a TON of them, I am serious..I cannot even express how many.  They have C-Cans full of them, and bags upon bags of them.  I mean BAGS…plied high.  See this pile… that is only one corner.  It is at least that much all around the whole enclosure.  Which again is huge… I know, not very good description.  But about 20 of worked all day non stop sorting and bottling and it doesn’t even look like we made a dent in it.

I am will back tomorrow.  It was a beautiful day, close to 30 degrees.   I didn’t mind it at all. I think I am a little but OCD, because I really enjoy repetitive tasks.  When we made diaper cakes and had to roll hundreds of diapers, knitting, sorting bottles…I like it, find it very therapeutic.

Love this too!

Heard this song on an audition piece on So You Think You Can Dance and loved it.  But I can’t find the mp3 and I can’t even buy the CD as it is no longer in production.   I guess I will have to make do with this. Over and over again!

California Day 5

On Day 5 we took a Starline tour. It was a 6 hour tour where we hit a bunch of star homes and sights, and beaches.

The Kodak Theatre where the Oscars are held.

Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

Our tour guide was obsessed with Bob Barker, we drove by his house 3 times, and he wouldn’t stop talking about him.  He also hadn’t seen a movie since 1954 I don’t think.

Scarlett Johansson’s house ( And Ryan Reynolds)

Jo and I on the way up to the Hollywood Sign

The Hollywood Sign.
This is the closest you can get to the sign because an actress once jumped off of it after being depressed about her career.

Tom Cruise’s House

Venice Beach

Santa Monica Pier

The ride back…crazy traffic

I like this pic.

After the tour, Jo and I went out to eat at Ketchup.  As seen on The Hills!! ;-)

California Day 4

We ran into a woman who I know from work, and her daughter who were also staying at our hotel, what are the chances of that?  Anyway, we were talking to them and they had so many things planned we felt kinda bad so we decided we needed to do something.

We had originally decided to go to Universal Studios but we talked to Frank at the front desk and he convinced us to go to Disneyland instead.  We had a blast.
Jo was so excited to finally get something with her name on it… hehe. I got one too.

Our first ride was the Carousel

Next we stood in line for a good 45 mins at least and we finally got into the cars…and the safety bars were down…and they went back up and asked us to get out cause they were closing the ride down.

Next we hit the teacups…I love the teacups.

mmm..Churros

It’s a small world

My origins and Josie’s

Next we went on Splash Mountain, where we got drenched…I was in the front of the boat. ;-)
It was a tiring day, so we headed back to the hotel and crashed once again.

California Day 3

Once again we totally slept in and took our time getting ready.  We walked down to the Beverly Center and did a lot more shopping.  All day long…. And then we crashed in the room….

First store we stopped at was Kenneth Cole.  I had really wanted to go there to get some Awearness clothing. I didn’t end up getting one of the more controversial shirts…but I still got one to support the cause.    http://awearnessblog.com/

Next we had to hit Sketchers cause Jo needed new shoes immediately as the ones she had worn to walk to the mall were killing her and cutting up her feet.  Unfortunately Jo has a really hard time finding shoes as her feet are so small so she wasn’t real happy with her purchase…but they were better than the alternative.

Other than that we just checked out the stores.  I got a fantastic turquoise bag at Aldo… that smelled like fish on the inside when i got it home…it took a lot of work and some other mishaps but I eventually got that smell out… ;-)

These are the only shots I took that day….  Out our hotel window.

California Day 2

On Day 2 we took if pretty easy.  We had no plans for the whole trip really.  We slept in, chilled, ordered room service where I ate a ton…had real buttermilk pancakes, which I did not like cause they actually had milk on the inside.

We first went down Sunset Boulevard, did some shopping.
Then we went down to Melrose Boulevard.

Saw some kewl things.

We came up Santa Monica Boulevard and stopped at a kewl restaurant The Primo Bistro.  I have since seen it on the Hills. ;-)
