It’s all about me!

My mom and Linda came to see me this weekend. It was fun.  My mom did the Relay with us. And we vegged some and ate lots and went to the Oilsands Discovery Centre and bought some patio furntiture for me.  I also did the MS walk this weekend.

Pretty laid back weekend.  Did lots of cleaning and organizing.  Went to Terri and Rob’s for a BBQ, and today Crystal and I made 7 million cancer ribbons for our team on the weekend.  I am looking forward to that, and to having my mom come up for the Relay.  I just hope the weather cooperates. 

It is a long weekend, yayyyy!!!

Been cleaning up a storm, but need to keep going.  I am procrastinating now.

Next weekend is the Relay for Life, which I am excited for.  My Mom and Linda are coming up for it.

I think this summer is going to be busy!  4 concerts, trip to Auntie Beth’s farm, trips home, Start MBA(hopefully), trip to New York (hopefully)… good times.

Really don’t have much to say today.

Pretty tame weekend. Trying to get rid of this stupid cold, so did a lot of sleeping.  Went to the Syncrude BBQ last night, lots of good food and good fun. Then Jo, Sal and I went out to C’boys.  Was totally lazy today, did some organizing and watched some movies.
 I have had three movies through zip.ca that I either haven’t had time to watch or haven’t been too excited too..so it has been a month. So I watched them all this weekend.  Jarhead, Ray and Million Dollar Baby.  I really didn’t like Jarhead, Ray was ok, and Million Dollar Baby was good, though I already knew the ending.

OMG!! Terri and her mom make the best pizza, so good.. from scratch amazing.
And then we played an Italian card game..with Italian cards…I was confused..but I eventually caught on.
I think I even won some money… Good times.

After we left the play, we headed over to Longshots were the Stoney Mountain Band was playing.  That was fun, they are really good, the bass fiddle player is my co-worker.  We socialized and discovered that Longshots is actually a pretty nice bar.
On Saturday, went to lunch with Jo and her brother Sal, who just got to town for the summer and then later on we headed over to Terri’s. 
And today I am heading over to Terri’s again, and actually I am running late so I should go get ready.

So we went to the Play at Keyano on Friday…and wow was it bad.  It is called Spare the Rod. 
It started off all abstract and weird, so I was confused already.  Then it evolves into a story about three generations of fathers and sons… So the grandfather beats and screams at his son, so that sons grows up to be an alcoholic and scream at his son and call him names and then that song is trying to be a good father to his son.   It was incredibly depressing and not at all what I needed on a Friday night… so Jo and I left at intermission.  Some friends who stayed said that is got better, kind of had a happy ending and explained some stuff… but still…..

OMG!!  John Mayer rocks!!!!!

Ok, first off….ninth row seats on the floor.  So good.  There was a girl standing in front of Jo, who sadly couldn’t not find the beat and Jo was getting seasick from bobbing around her trying to see John…I don’t know how she did it for the whole concert.  The girl was in front of me for one song and I nearly killed her.

John’s opening act was Kathleen Edwards…I have never really like her…but never given her a fair chance maybe….still don’t like her though.  First off…she needs to adapt to her surroundings…she is obviously from Ontario…cbeause only a person from there would  be in Alberta and yell out who hates country music?  LIke 5 people clapped…. Anyway…

John Mayer was amazing!! He is an amazing songwriter, amazing guitar player and great singer.  What I loved the most was that he was so into the music…he was not just going through the motions…he was feeling every note…You could tell he is passionate about what he is doing and there is nothing that you can respect more than that.  LOVE HIM!!

One stupid thing was that, Jo and I went to buy shirts and Jo goes first and I am still deciding and then I hear asking whether it is pre-shrunk…and I am ask what is going on?  and she says they only brought medium..I was like wow that is dumb. So I ask for another style of shirt in a large and she is like..we only have medium…Josie pipes in..yeah for all the women’s shirts…they only brought medium… The girl selling was all like this is all the send me…. Whatevs.  Annoying.

Sorry I am a little late on my update.

So the weekend was great, Jo was already in town for a conference so I headed down on Thursday night because Friday was an ADO. 
We did lots of shopping, but not to muc so that I feel guilty. hehe.  Jo totally made me try on a new shirt style that apparently suits me so I got a whole bunch. I am excited.
We went to The Ranch on Friday night…we weren’t feeling it.   First off, it was like 11 when we got there and while we were in line you should have seen the wrecked people coming out of there…people couldn’t even stand…when do these people start?  Once you get in there…it is a really young crowd…who can’t dance or two step to save their lives…I actually thought lives would be lost.  We ended up having an ok time, found a cute bartender and yeah…that was that.  We went, we tried…but Cook County is still our favourite!! Yee-Haw!!!
More shopping on Saturday and then JOHN MAYER BABY!!! He gets his own post….
Saturday night we just hung out at the lounge at the hotel and chatted and Sunday..surprise surprise…more shopping then headed back to Ft Mc, and straight to Terri’s where she was having everyone over. 

It was definitely a good weekend.
